To register for the footwork battle, email uwbboys@gmail.com with your name and use "GFX 10 Footwork battle registration" as the subject of your email.

Look for SLC near the middle of the map. That's where you want to go. The jam will be held downstairs in the atrium, just follow the music or ask at the Turnkey Desk. The area is pretty big so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Greyhound/Bus - Take the Greyhound to St. Charles Street Terminal in Kitchener. Once you arrive you have to go upstairs and cross over to the local buses platform. Take the 7D bus "To UW via University Ave" (the letter matters) and stop once you approach the Student Life Centre. There should be sign to look for on the right side of the bus once the bus turns on to UW campus. For a picture reference, look at the map given in the link above and click "Grand River Transit." The first stop below SLC is where you stop. From there, walk to the SLC and there should be a Tim Horton's. Walk up the stairs and go straight until you pass the area with all the couchs. Next, you'll approach a brighter area where you should be able to see a huge open area downstairs on the left. Congratulations, you've found the place. Note that most Greyhounds coming up to Kitchener/Waterloo do not stop at UW Campus.

For anyone driving, there is also FREE parking at the RIM parking lots. From Columbia St, turn south onto Philip Street (Between Columbia and University Ave), and it will be the first parking entrance to your right (West side). You'll recognize it by all the RIM buildings around the parking lot. On the Parking Lot map posted above, it is located right above the ECH building.

Just a reminder to everyone that Ground FX 10 is going to be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the University of Waterloo. It's going to be a 3 vs 3 bboy/bgirl competition with a cash prize of 150$ and second prize of 60$!!

Not only that, but new mini-events have been added to the jam: a footwork battle, power move showcase and a funkstyle showcase! First prize is going to be the NOTORIOUS IBE 2009 DVD!! Footwork battle is full now, so sign up for the waiting list to hold your place in line!

Hi Everyone!

GFX 10, happening on March 13, is less than a week away! If you haven't invited all your friends yet, do it now! If you haven't signed up to compete, sign up now!

It's FREE to watch and FREE to participate, with a grand prize of $150 and second prize of 60$ for the 3 vs 3 breaking battle, and many other prizes to be won!

As for the format of the battles, the main 3 vs 3 breaking battle will have showcase battle preliminaries, and then 16 crews will be chosen to move onto elimination rounds. There will be no commando routines allowed in the prelims, and remember, showcase battle means you are competing against EVERYONE, not just the crew you're up against.

Because there is such a large turnout for the footwork battle, we have decided to increase the amount of competitors to 16 people. The format will be four 4-way battle for prelims, and one person from each prelim battle will be chosen to move onto 1 vs 1 elimination rounds. The footwork battle will be happening before the 3 vs 3 battles.

There will also be a Funkstyle cypher showcase, so if you can pop or lock, feel free to join in!

The Powermove battle showcase will be judged by the audience, with prizes to be won!

With so many events happening, you don't want to miss out on the biggest jam in Waterloo!! It starts at 6:30pm sharp at the Student Life Center in the University of Waterloo, so arrive on time to make sure you get a chance to compete!

Hi Everyone,

The UW Breakers just want to thank everyone who came out to the jam! It was a one of the best GFX yet and was definitely a HUGE blast. We also wanted to specially thank Showkingshop, Warrior Weekend, DJ Shayne C, the judges, and everyone else who contributed to the success of the event.

Just to also let you all know, we will be making a GFX 10 DVD with the footage we have of the event, so look forward to that. We will be releasing information about it when we get closer to completing it.

Thanks again for coming out to support our jam, and we hope to see you all again next year at GFX 11!!!
