Sickest Six Series 2004
May to December, Second Saturday of every month
La Casa D'Hall & The 360

This visionary event took a bracket elimination battling style to a whole new level. The seriescombined the element of one on one competition with the process of multiple events; each event eliminated competitors until there remained one winner. The event closely paralleled the show-by-show elimination concept of “So You Think You Can Dance” but predated it by several years.

We took the top dancers renowned for their style, ability and experience and properly titled them “The Sickest Six”. We placed them against another ten who openly qualified in a free-for-all competition for the spots.

Following the qualifications they were matched up and the Sickest Six members were challenged. After each event, half the dancers were eliminated and the winners took one step closer to the glory awaiting the victor at the finals.

Each event had new highlights, including DJ battles, MC battles, Graffiti Gear showcases, live band performances and more heated battles. The competition got more and more intense and it finally climaxed as the victor emerged. Deadly Mike of DDT was crowned the winner as he claimed his title as top bboy of the city.

To this day, no other dance company in this country has dedicated multiple number of events of this style to make a series more exciting and unique. To date, many members of the dance community still discuss many of the battles that occured, recalling the history that occurred at every single one of the The Sickest Six event series.
